Marking Period 2
Green Pier

Work Started
  • Final steps of construction-Finishing up schedules of fill and gravel
Work Completed
  • My CAD drawing is now completely finished. Everything is included-dimensions, elevations, and all components.
  • Schedule of land fill is finished. I calculated that we will need 69, 985 cubed feet of fill to level the land by the coast. For purchasing purposes, we would round this to 70, 000 to account for erosion since we surveyed and any mistakes we could have made.
Reminders
  • Follow rubrics.
  • Stay on schedule.
  • Consult mentors and other group members before making any major changes.
  • Midterm needs to be started-it is very lengthy and its due date is approaching.

Marking Period 2
Green Pier

Work Started
  • Topography lines-I started drawing the lines of the current elevations of the land now.  This will help me calculate the amount of fill I will need to complete construction on my part of the design. I have been speaking to my mentor about it because this is the first time I have ever done anything like this before.
Work Completed
  • Press Release-My press release is completely finished and printed. I am handing it in today.
Reminders
  • Continuously update mentors about project. Remember that we need 10 mentor contacts by the end of the marking period.
  • Check with group members about what they are doing too. We need to stay constant with what they are doing.
  • Complete drawings with as much detail as possible because these will count as our construction part of the project.  We are not constructing anything until the third marking period, when we make our final model of the finished site.
  • Keep constant with calendar. I made that at the beginning of the marking period to remain constant with what I am doing. I have done fairly well so far.
  • Abide by all rubrics to avoid bad grades.
